1. Who we are and what this covers

AltiPrep FAA is a mobile study app for iOS and Android that helps student pilots prepare for the FAA Private Pilot Airplane knowledge test. This policy covers the AltiPrep FAA app and this website. “We” means the publisher of AltiPrep. You can contact us about privacy at support@carbo-studio.com.

2. What stays on your device

The app works without an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or location. The app contains no advertising, no advertising identifier, and no analytics or crash-reporting tools.

Your study data (answers, statistics, mock exam results, bookmarks, flashcard history and settings) is stored only in your device’s local storage and is not sent to our servers. If you uninstall the app or use “Reset progress” in Settings, it is erased from your device.

3. What is processed when you use the app

Purchases and subscriptions (RevenueCat). To manage AltiPrep Pro, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management service that acts on our behalf. When the app starts, RevenueCat creates a random anonymous identifier for your installation and receives what it needs to check your subscription: that identifier, the store receipt or purchase token, the product, your subscription status and dates, the app version, the platform and operating system, and the IP address of the request, as with any internet request. RevenueCat is based in the United States. Its privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/.

Payments (Apple and Google). Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your card or bank details. We may receive limited information about transactions, such as purchases and renewals, through RevenueCat and the stores’ reporting tools.

Fonts. When the app starts, it downloads its typefaces from a public hosting service (GitHub). That host can see your IP address and standard request details, like any web server. No study data is sent.

Notifications. If you turn on study reminders, they are scheduled locally by your device. We do not operate a push-notification server and do not receive a notification token.

Reporting a question. The “Report” button opens your own email app with a pre-filled message that includes the question identifier. Nothing is sent unless you send the email. We use it only to reply to you and to correct content.

4. This website: cookies and analytics

Analytics, with your consent only. We use Google Analytics (Google LLC) to measure how the site is used: pages viewed, approximate location, and device and browser type. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_* (up to 2 years). If you refuse, or do nothing, the analytics script is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage for 6 months, and you can change it at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

Third-party resources. To display pages, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), icons from unpkg.com, and a QR code image from api.qrserver.com (used in the download pop-up). These providers receive your IP address and browser details when they serve those files. The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs.

5. Why we process data (legal bases)

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland: we process subscription data to perform our contract with you (providing AltiPrep Pro), we process limited technical data and support emails in our legitimate interest in running and securing the service and answering you, and we use analytics cookies only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

6. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. Data is handled only by the providers named above (Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Vercel, and, on the website after consent, Google Analytics) and by the third-party hosts of fonts, icons and QR images. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

7. International transfers

Some of these providers are based in, or transfer data to, the United States. Where required, transfers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, as provided by each provider.

8. How long we keep data

Study data stays on your device until you uninstall the app or reset your progress. Subscription records held by RevenueCat are kept as long as needed to operate subscriptions and meet legal obligations, or until deleted at your request. Website analytics are kept for the retention period configured in our Google Analytics account.

9. Your rights

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL: www.cnil.fr).

If you live in a US state with a privacy law, such as California, you may have the right to know, delete and correct the personal information we hold and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information.

To exercise a right, email support@carbo-studio.com. Because the app has no accounts, we may ask for your store order number so we can locate the anonymous subscription record linked to your purchase. Study data on your device is under your control and can be erased in the app or by uninstalling it.

10. Children

AltiPrep FAA is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

11. Security

Data sent to our providers is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Study data on your device is protected by your device’s own security features.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant, we will say so in the app or on this website.
