Pre-flight questions
SUPPORT@CARBO-STUDIO.COMWhich exam does AltiPrep FAA prepare me for?
AltiPrep FAA prepares you for the FAA Private Pilot Airplane (PAR) Airman Knowledge Test. It covers eight subject areas: regulations, airspace and airport operations, aviation weather, aerodynamics, aircraft systems, performance and weight and balance, navigation and flight planning, and aeromedical factors and aeronautical decision making.
How does the real FAA knowledge test work?
The Private Pilot Airplane knowledge test has 60 multiple-choice questions, a 2.5-hour time limit, and a passing score of 70 percent. The AltiPrep mock exam uses the same format: 60 questions, 150 minutes and a 70 percent pass mark.
Are the questions like the ones on the real test?
The questions are practice questions in the style of the FAA knowledge test, organized by subject, and many use the FAA charts and figures you will see on test day. Every question has a written explanation of why the right answer is right and why the others are not.
Is AltiPrep FAA free?
You can start for free: Regulations and Airspace & Airport Operations are open with 30 practice questions each, so you can see how the app works. AltiPrep Pro, an auto-renewing subscription managed by the App Store or Google Play, unlocks every subject, all flashcards and the full mock exams.
How does spaced repetition work?
Flashcards come back at the moment you are about to forget them: cards you know return less often, cards you miss return sooner. AltiPrep schedules your reviews automatically so what you learn stays with you until test day.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. Questions, explanations, flashcards, courses and mock exams are stored on your device, so you can study anywhere, including in airplane mode. An internet connection is only needed to subscribe or restore a purchase.
Does AltiPrep replace flight instruction or guarantee I will pass?
No. AltiPrep is a study aid. It does not replace instruction from a certificated flight instructor, and it does not guarantee a passing score. Always check current FAA publications, such as the Airman Certification Standards, the regulations and the AIM, for official information.
